The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, Audu Garba Bosso, has deployed tactical units and other available operational resources to intensify a joint manhunt with sister security agencies for armed hoodlums suspected of killing the traditional ruler of Ochia Autonomous Community, Eze Paulinus Ekwueme, who was reportedly set ablaze by unidentified attackers.

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, the incident occurred along Asa Awara Road in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of the state.

He noted that the deployment followed a distress report received from the Ohaji Police Division on April 10, 2026, indicating that armed men attacked the monarch and killed him alongside five other yet-to-be-identified persons.

Okoye further explained that, acting on the report, the Commissioner of Police immediately ordered the mobilisation of tactical teams to Asa, where officers recovered the burnt bodies of the victims. The remains were evacuated and deposited at the Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH), Owerri, for preservation and autopsy.
