Defence Minister Orders Security Agencies To Share Intelligence Amid Rising Insecurity!.
The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has urged an end to siloed operations among Nigeria’s security and intelligence agencies, emphasizing the need for collaborative intelligence sharing to address the country’s growing security threats.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
He made the call during a meeting with members of the intelligence community in Abuja, noting that while agencies have been actively addressing threats, fragmented operations have limited overall effectiveness.
“We all know the importance of intelligence, especially in asymmetric warfare, where threats can emerge from within or outside our borders. Much of our work has been done in silos, and it’s time to integrate efforts so all actions are coordinated and impactful,” Musa stated.
The minister disclosed that President Bola Tinubu has directed enhanced collaboration across all security services, stressing that no agency should operate in isolation.
“Jointness means every service and agency is important; none is irrelevant. Intelligence, whether human or technical, must be harnessed collectively to provide better leverage,” he said.
Musa explained that the meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration, build collective capacity, and ensure intelligence gathered across agencies is effectively applied in field operations.
“Asymmetric warfare is largely a battle of intelligence. Without it, we operate blindly. Unlike conventional warfare, threats are often unidentified, and even those close to us may be potential adversaries,” he added.
The Defence Minister also called on Nigerians to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information, noting that human intelligence remains a critical pillar of national security.
“We must explore all means to enhance human intelligence and ensure citizens understand their role in providing relevant information promptly. This will strengthen national security and operational effectiveness,” Musa said.
He assured that the Ministry of Defence will continue to support intelligence agencies and promote better coordination to enhance the capabilities of troops on the ground.
Nigeria continues to face multiple security challenges, including insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping, making integrated intelligence more critical than ever.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
