The attack, which took place on Sunday night, reportedly claimed several lives, left many injured, and plunged the community into mourning.
In a statement on Monday, Kalu expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, extending condolences to the bereaved families and the Plateau State Government. He also prayed for the swift recovery of those injured.
Highlighting the recurring nature of such violence, the Deputy Speaker emphasized the urgent need for decisive action to protect lives.
“The sanctity of human life must be upheld at all times,” he said.
Kalu described the attack as unacceptable and urged authorities to intensify efforts to prevent further bloodshed. He assured residents that security agencies are committed to tracking down those responsible and bringing them to justice.
He also called on the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement by providing credible information to aid ongoing investigations.
Advocating for stronger security measures in vulnerable communities, Kalu stressed that addressing insecurity requires collective responsibility. He urged renewed commitment from government, security agencies, and citizens to ensure lasting peace in Plateau State and across Nigeria.
