The tragic attack, which claimed over 30 lives, has sparked widespread outrage and heightened concerns over the country’s security situation.
In a strongly worded message to the Defence Minister on her official social media page on Monday, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan condemned the killings, describing the incident as a brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected.
She expressed disappointment over what she sees as a growing gap between the assurances Musa gave during his Senate screening and the current security realities.
According to the senator, Gen. Musa must either stop making excuses, demonstrate that he is different, or step aside.
She wrote:
“Dear General Christopher Musa, Angwan Rukuba is yet another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected. During your Senate screening, your words were filled with promises, and I allowed myself a sigh of relief. Well, prove now that you are different and secure lives—or step aside. Enough of condolences. Enough of excuses. Nigerians want action, protection, and results!”
