Mark Carney Sparks Debate, Calls For Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor To Be Removed From Royal Line Of Succession.

Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, has urged that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor be removed from the royal line of succession, describing his conduct as “deplorable.”....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking to reporters in Tokyo, Carney said the circumstances that led to Andrew losing his royal titles make it necessary for him to also be excluded from the succession order.

It will be recalled that King Charles III removed Andrew’s princely status in October due to his association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Despite this, Andrew—Charles’s younger brother—still occupies the eighth position in the line to the throne.

King Charles III remains the head of state of Canada, which is part of the Commonwealth of Nations.

Carney, who previously served as governor of the Bank of England, acknowledged that Andrew is “far down” the succession list but insisted that the issue is one of principle.

He noted that there is an established procedure for removing someone from the line of succession and said the appropriate steps should be taken.

Under the current order, Charles’s eldest son, Prince William, is next in line to the throne, followed by his children—Prince George of Wales, Princess Charlotte of Wales, and Prince Louis of Wales.

Carney’s remarks have added international political pressure on the British royal family to consider further action regarding Andrew, whose connection to Epstein has cast a shadow over the monarchy.

The statement from Canada’s leader also reflects growing unease among countries within the Commonwealth about Andrew’s continued place in the line of succession despite being stripped of royal roles and responsibilities.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.

Meanwhile, comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals allegedly linking them to Toluwanisings’ death.

Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.

In the notice issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations they described as false and defamatory against them.
