FCT Elections: Wike Says Nigerians Now Clearly See Ruling Party vs Real Opposition.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the peaceful conduct of Saturday’s Area Council elections, stating that the results clearly show Nigerians the ruling party and the genuine opposition.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a special broadcast on Sunday evening, Wike said the smooth running of the elections reflected the FCT residents’ commitment to democracy and good governance.
He criticized individuals who attempt to influence voters with trivial gestures, saying, “The residents of FCT showed they cannot be deceived by so-called emergency democrats who refuse to acknowledge the good in our country and government.”
Wike also commended President Tinubu for his contributions to the FCT, noting that the elections demonstrate the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda in boosting confidence and optimism among the people.
In part, the broadcast stated:
“The peaceful conduct of the election is a testament to the people of the FCT’s dedication to democracy. I thank residents for believing in the credible democratic process championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“I commend all candidates for participating, showing commitment to ensuring that even minority voices are heard.
“Congratulations to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for their victories. This election has shown Nigerians the ruling party and the real opposition.
“It has also exposed those who try to mislead voters with superficial campaigns. FCT residents proved they cannot be deceived.
“I thank Mr. President for the development brought to the FCT. This election reflects his vision and leadership, and confirms that the Renewed Hope Agenda inspires hope and confidence.
“President Tinubu’s commitment to improving Nigerians’ lives, particularly FCT residents, is evident. The Renewed Hope Agenda offers a brighter future, and under his leadership, the FCT continues to set an example in development and progress.
“I also commend the President for strengthening democracy through amendments to the Electoral Act, ensuring credible elections.
“Finally, I congratulate INEC for conducting free and fair elections and commend security agencies for their dedication, which ensured a peaceful process and contributed to the success of this democratic exercise.”
