El-Rufai, Malami: EFCC Targeting Opposition – ADC.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, made the statement during an interview on ARISE Television on Thursday, responding to the recent arrest and detention of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and ex-Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Abdullahi raised concerns that national anti-corruption agencies are increasingly being seen as partisan.
“We have the EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, two national institutions funded by public money to investigate and prosecute corruption,” he said.
“But they seem to operate efficiently only when opposition members are involved. It’s worrying that these institutions are being turned into tools for partisan purposes.”
He also questioned what he described as selective enforcement.
“Just look at members of the ruling All Progressives Congress. Some have pending cases or were investigated in the past, yet once they join the ruling party, their issues are swept under the carpet,” Abdullahi alleged.
He stressed that the ADC is not commenting on the guilt or innocence of the individuals concerned.
“We are not saying El-Rufai or Malami is guilty or innocent. Our concern is the manipulation of national institutions and their use as weapons against opposition figures,” he added.
