‘Make Sure Mirabel Receives Same Punishment A Rapist Would Get’ – Tacha Urges Police .

Mirabel had previously claimed that a stranger broke into her apartment in Ogijo, Ogun State, and sexually assaulted her, sparking widespread outrage on social media.

However, in an audio conversation shared online by social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), Mirabel acknowledged that her claim was untrue, citing personal struggles and mental health issues as factors behind her post. She said, “Yes, sir, please help me, I am very sorry, I have been taking drugs, and I was not thinking clearly when I posted the videos.”

Following this revelation, the Ogun State Police Command has made arrangements to arrest and prosecute Mirabel. A police source told PUNCH that a Divisional Police Officer and senior officers were at the hospital where she is receiving treatment, and she will be taken into custody and charged upon discharge. “The essence is to serve as a deterrent to others,” the source added.

On social media, Tacha urged law enforcement and agencies handling rape and assault cases to ensure Mirabel is penalized and receives a punishment equivalent to that of a rapist. She wrote, “Now that it’s been established that Mirabel lied about the rape allegation, I expect the police and relevant agencies to make sure she is penalized and receives the same punishment a rapist would get… We should NEVER allow such actions to empower those who abuse women. She must be held accountable.”
