“I Deliberately Chose Weakness Against Wike – Fubara Explains His Strategy”.
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has shed light on his decision to adopt what critics have labeled as “weakness” in his political dealings with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
He explained that the approach was intentional, aimed at preserving peace, ensuring political survival, and protecting broader national interests.
Fubara shared these insights on Friday in Lagos while receiving the Man of the Year award at the New Telegraph Award/Dinner Night.
In his acceptance speech, he reflected on the pressures of leadership, the lingering political tensions in Rivers State, and his ongoing efforts toward reconciliation.
“Today is very special for me and also for everyone who has believed in me. I know that believing in me has come with its share of pain,” the governor said.
Addressing the prolonged political strain affecting governance in the state, Fubara noted that his actions have often been misunderstood by observers. He stressed that his choices were deliberate and guided by a commitment to stability.
“Some see these pains as weakness, others as strength, but I deliberately choose what some call weakness—for many reasons. Weak, to maintain peace. Weak, to survive. Weak, to protect what is dear—not just to me, but to our nation,” he explained.
Fubara added a remark likely to resonate politically: “Weakness is a virtue. It pays off at the right time.”
