Celebrities Need People To Keep Them Grounded – Iyanya.
Nigerian singer Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly known as Iyanya, has shared how he has successfully managed fame for over 17 years in the entertainment industry, crediting his consistency and longevity to guidance and mentorship.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The award-winning artiste made this known during a recent episode of the Afropolitan Podcast, where he discussed the pressures that come with fame and the need for celebrities to remain grounded.
Iyanya explained that submitting himself to the counsel of trusted individuals has helped him stay balanced and focused despite the demands of celebrity life.
“I’ve been able to handle fame positively for 17 years because of guidance. I would advise my younger self not to take things personally, because every entertainer needs direction,” he said.
According to him, fame can be misleading and overwhelming, making it essential for public figures to surround themselves with people who can keep them in check.
“You need one, two, or three people in your life to help keep you grounded, because things happen very fast and most of it isn’t real. You could walk into a president’s office, he knows your name and sings your song, but it’s not real,” he added.
Iyanya noted that the admiration and attention associated with fame can fade quickly, warning entertainers against depending on public validation.
“The same person, if you’re no longer relevant two or three years later, may not even remember you. They’ll have to be reminded you once met,” he said.
The singer urged celebrities and entertainers to actively seek guidance from trusted mentors, stressing that such support systems offer moral direction and help public figures navigate the highs and lows of fame while avoiding common pitfalls associated with celebrity status.

“It Disturbs Me” – Pete Edochie Says He Spends ₦40,000 Daily On Electricity.
Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has disclosed that he spends around ₦40,000 each day to keep electricity running in his home, highlighting the ongoing challenges of unstable power supply in Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The 78-year-old actor shared this during an interview on Africa Independent Television, discussing how unreliable electricity affects many Nigerians.
Edochie explained that the high cost stems from relying on multiple sources to meet his household’s energy needs. About ₦10,000 of his daily spending goes to purchasing electricity units from the distribution company, while ₦20,000 is spent on diesel for his generator and another ₦10,000 on petrol for a second generator—bringing his total daily electricity expenses to ₦40,000.
The actor expressed concern over the widespread struggles Nigerians face with power supply. He also criticized political leaders, saying many appear more interested in gaining power than addressing the everyday difficulties of ordinary citizens.
“It disturbs me a big deal. Then I listen to people who are only interested in getting into politics and enjoying power. Nobody seems to be bothered about what’s happening to the common man,” Pete Edochie said.
