Shettima Heads To Plateau For Mutfwang’s APC Reception.

The Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that Vice President Kashim Shettima will lead a high-powered delegation to the state on Tuesday for the official reception of Governor Caleb Mutfwang into the ruling party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The reception follows Mutfwang’s resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on December 29, 2025, through a letter addressed to the Ward Chairman of Ampang West Ward in Mangu Local Government Area.

In the letter, the governor attributed his decision to shifting political realities and his desire to enhance governance and service delivery.

Speaking at a press briefing on Monday at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, confirmed that Vice President Shettima will serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the event.

Wase said other top APC figures expected include the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas; several APC governors; and other party leaders.

He urged residents of Plateau State to maintain peace and order before and during the event.

“We call on residents, party supporters and well-wishers to act peacefully and responsibly in line with the values of unity and peaceful coexistence that Plateau State is known for,” Wase said.

He added that the reception is a statewide event and its success depends on collective discipline, mutual respect and cooperation with security agencies and organisers.
