“Peter Obi Or Nothing” – Ijeh Explains Obidients’ Stand.

Published

on

A key member of the Obidients Movement, Justin Ijeh, has explained why the group is insisting that former presidential candidate Peter Obi secures the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

He stated that Obidients are backing Obi because of their confidence in his leadership and vision.

Speaking on Channels Television, Ijeh dismissed claims that the movement had rejected coalition-building efforts within the ADC. He said the group is actively integrating into the party’s structures following Obi’s official entry. However, he expressed concern over narratives suggesting a predetermined outcome in the party’s internal process.

Ijeh urged ADC leaders to channel the enthusiasm of Obi’s supporters constructively, calling for transparency, consensus-building, and trust. He stressed that party officials should listen to diverse opinions and ensure all voices are considered as the political process unfolds.

He explained:

“When we say ‘Peter Obi or nothing,’ coming from a movement named ‘Obedients,’ it is simply an affirmation of where we stand in the political process. We have chosen Peter Obi from among many capable contenders.

“A generation of Nigerians previously seen as politically apathetic has organically come together to engage in this process. In doing so, they have identified Obi as the candidate who best embodies the values they support.

“Saying ‘Peter Obi or nothing’ does not mean we reject coalition-building. We are fully participating in it. Since Obi officially joined the ADC, Obedients have started actively integrating into the party structure.

“Regarding claims of a predetermined outcome, if I were the ADC spokesperson, I would harness the passion of supporters rather than dismiss it. I would build trust, seek consensus, reassure them, and ensure the process is transparent and inclusive. No voices should be silenced at this early stage.”

Ijeh emphasized that the movement’s support for Obi is a reflection of deliberate choice and a desire to participate meaningfully in shaping Nigeria’s political future.
