“Kaduna Authorities Hunt Bandits After Abduction Of Retired AIT Journalist”.
The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of veteran photojournalist Malam Umar Usman. Usman was reportedly abducted around 9:00 pm on Monday by suspected bandits in the Danhonu II community of Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area. The incident has sparked renewed fear among residents of the area.
DSP Hassan revealed that the victim, who was taken from his home, is a retired staff member of Africa Independent Television (AIT), Kaduna, and formerly worked with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in the state. He added that Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad immediately deployed personnel to track the kidnappers and ensure Usman is rescued unharmed.
Authorities have appealed to the public to provide any information that could assist in locating the abducted journalist and bringing him back safely.
