According to Nivo News, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, January 4, 2026, leaving critical sections of the police facility completely destroyed.

Video footage circulating online captured the moment flames engulfed the Mopol 13 premises, showing the office buildings and armoury reduced to rubble as the fire raged through the facility. The extent of the destruction was evident, with key operational areas consumed by the inferno.

In the footage, a distressed voice describing the scene lamented that the armoury had been completely burnt, noting that nothing was salvaged from the fire. The narrator further claimed that the Squadron Commander’s office was also affected, stating that virtually all sections of the unit were destroyed by the blaze.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had not been officially determined.
