Hon. Aminu Sa’adu reportedly fell ill shortly after arriving at the Assembly complex and was rushed to a hospital for urgent medical attention, but he could not be saved. His sudden passing sent shockwaves across the state’s political community.

Barely an hour later, Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji also passed away. His death was confirmed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, spokesman to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who wrote on social media, “Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihirrajiun. Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, member representing Kano Municipal at Kano State House of Assembly, died today an hour after the death of his counterpart.”

Both lawmakers were noted for their active participation in legislative debates and commitment to constituency representation. Their unexpected deaths have left colleagues, constituents, and political observers in deep shock, with tributes and prayers pouring in on social media.
