BREAKING: Iran Executes Man Accused Of Spying For Israel Following June War!.

Published

Iran has executed a man convicted of spying for Israel, marking the latest in a series of capital punishments following the 12-day conflict between the two nations in June.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The judiciary’s media outlet, Mizan News Agency, confirmed on Saturday, December 20, that the sentence was carried out after being upheld by the Supreme Court and following completion of all legal procedures.

The executed individual, identified as Aghil Keshavarz, was found guilty of espionage for what Iranian authorities describe as the “Zionist regime,” including cooperating with Israel and photographing sensitive military and security sites.

“The death sentence for Aghil Keshavarz, convicted of spying for the Zionist regime, cooperating with its agents, and photographing military and security locations, was executed after being upheld by the Supreme Court and following all legal procedures,” Mizan reported.

The judiciary said Keshavarz, alleged to be an operative of Israel’s Mossad intelligence service, was arrested between April and May in Urmia, a city in northwestern Iran. Mizan added that the man had confessed to the charges during his trial.

Authorities outlined that Keshavarz’s activities included photographing targeted sites, planting tracking devices, conducting opinion polls, and monitoring traffic patterns—all allegedly carried out under orders from Mossad officers.

The execution comes in the wake of the unprecedented June conflict, which began on June 13 when Israel launched attacks on Iranian military and nuclear facilities, as well as residential areas. Iran responded with drone and missile strikes on Israel, escalating into a 12-day war that included US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. The conflict disrupted diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington aimed at reaching a new nuclear agreement. A ceasefire took effect on June 24.

Since the war, Iranian authorities have promised swift trials for individuals suspected of collaborating with Israel. Multiple arrests have been confirmed, with at least 10 individuals reportedly executed for working with Mossad since the conflict.

Nigeria's Press Freedom Under Threat: Peter Obi Calls for Accountability

Iran, which does not recognize Israel, has long accused the country of orchestrating sabotage attacks on its nuclear facilities and assassinating Iranian scientists. In October, Tehran amended its espionage laws to impose harsher penalties for those accused of spying for Israel or the United States, including asset confiscation and the death penalty. Previously, espionage laws did not specifically target individual countries, nor did they automatically mandate capital punishment.

The execution of Keshavarz highlights Iran’s hardline stance on espionage amid ongoing tensions with Israel and its allies.

Factional Crisis Rocks ADC In Akwa Ibom As Party Splits Deepen.

Published

Barely a year after its inauguration in Akwa Ibom State, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been plunged into a deep factional crisis.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Multiple factions are now locked in a struggle for control of the party, leaving members uncertain about the legitimate leadership structure.

One faction is led by John Akpanudodehe, a former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while another is headed by the embattled state chairman, Dick Duke.

Although the leader of a third faction could not be immediately confirmed, findings indicate that another group also exists within the party.

Sources further suggest that the Akpanudodehe-led faction is seeking to remove the current chairman through a recently held congress that has sparked controversy.

In response, Dick Duke convened a stakeholders’ meeting over the weekend, where he rejected the legitimacy of the said congress.

He said the party had formally written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to distance itself from the exercise, citing a subsisting court order.

According to him, his tenure as state chairman is still valid until May, and any congress conducted before then would be unlawful.

Duke added that the party would only proceed with proper congresses after the expiration of his tenure and the resolution of legal issues, in line with due process.
