BREAKING: Tinubu Flies In Controversial Delisted Presidential Jet To Borno, Bauchi, Lagos!.

Published

on

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday departed Abuja for Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos aboard the 20-year-old Boeing 737 Business Jet, which had been listed for sale in July but later delisted due to low buyer interest and insufficient offers.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The President left Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, around 11:45 a.m., beginning a multi-state working visit and holiday tour. Ahead of his arrival, the Borno State Police Command deployed tactical teams, surveillance units, and officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit to ensure security across the state.

Tinubu’s journey marks the return of the Obasanjo-era jet, tail number 5N-FGT, to active service months after the Federal Government withdrew it from sale. Acquired in 2005 during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, the aircraft was initially listed for sale in July 2025 as part of the Tinubu government’s cost-cutting measures. It was delisted in early December after prospective buyers reportedly submitted bids as low as $10 million, well below the government’s expectations.

Senior presidency officials had previously confirmed that the jet was removed from the international sales platform operated by a US marketing firm following months of unsuccessful attempts to sell it. The aircraft underwent partial refurbishment and major C1–C2 inspections at AMAC Aerospace in Basel, Switzerland, in July 2024. It had served multiple administrations until August 2024, when the Tinubu government received a refurbished Airbus A330-200.

According to a statement issued on Friday night by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s first stop is Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. There, he is expected to inaugurate several projects executed by the administration of Governor Babagana Zulum in collaboration with the Federal Government. The President will also attend the wedding of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and his bride, Hadiza Kam Salem.

From Borno, Tinubu will travel to Bauchi to offer condolences to the state government and the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the renowned Islamic cleric and Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood leader who passed away on November 27 at the age of 101.

The President will then proceed to Lagos, where he is expected to spend the Christmas and New Year holidays. He is also slated to serve as Guest of Honour at the Eyo Festival on December 27 at Tafawa Balewa Square. The festival will celebrate notable figures, including Tinubu’s late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, as well as former Lagos State Governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola.

Factional Crisis Rocks ADC In Akwa Ibom As Party Splits Deepen.

Published

on

Barely a year after its inauguration in Akwa Ibom State, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been plunged into a deep factional crisis.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Multiple factions are now locked in a struggle for control of the party, leaving members uncertain about the legitimate leadership structure.

One faction is led by John Akpanudodehe, a former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while another is headed by the embattled state chairman, Dick Duke.

Although the leader of a third faction could not be immediately confirmed, findings indicate that another group also exists within the party.

Sources further suggest that the Akpanudodehe-led faction is seeking to remove the current chairman through a recently held congress that has sparked controversy.

In response, Dick Duke convened a stakeholders’ meeting over the weekend, where he rejected the legitimacy of the said congress.

He said the party had formally written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to distance itself from the exercise, citing a subsisting court order.

According to him, his tenure as state chairman is still valid until May, and any congress conducted before then would be unlawful.

Duke added that the party would only proceed with proper congresses after the expiration of his tenure and the resolution of legal issues, in line with due process.
