Tinubu Deploys Forest Guards To Secure Northern Communities Against Banditry.
According to Nivo News, the Coordinator of the Public Enlightenment Movement Project, Nuhu Abdullahi, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu authorized the deployment of forest guards in Northern Nigeria to safeguard communities and tackle criminal activities.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Abdullahi made this disclosure on Sunday during the Phase 3 presentation of the Public Enlightenment Movement Project, where a video documentary showcasing the administration’s initiatives was screened to the public.
He explained that the forest guards are intended to complement existing security agencies by enhancing surveillance and ensuring faster responses to security threats, particularly in forested regions. “Forests have often served as hideouts for bandits. With the deployment of forest guards, these areas are now being protected, leaving criminals with fewer safe havens,” Abdullahi said.
Abdullahi also highlighted other projects endorsed by President Tinubu, including the upgrade of the Federal Medical Centre in Kumo, Gombe State, aimed at improving healthcare access for residents in the North-East.
He further drew attention to multiple federal road projects across the North, including the Bauchi–Gombe road, the Nasarawa–Abuja route, the Gashua–Potiskum road, and the Gembu corridor linking Nigeria to Cameroon. According to Abdullahi, these roads are expected to facilitate movement, boost trade, and reconnect communities affected by insecurity.
On water supply, he mentioned the Dutse water project in Jigawa State as part of Phase 3 initiatives focused on enhancing access to clean water and alleviating daily hardships for residents.
Abdullahi encouraged Northern Nigerians to acknowledge the ongoing projects while continuing to advocate for further development. “We should appreciate the efforts being made, but that does not mean we should stop asking for more development,” he said. He added that unity, responsible engagement, and public support remain crucial for sustaining stability and growth across the region.
