The Sky Blue Stars appeared set for another disappointing outing after Jonas Emmanuel’s header put the visitors ahead in the 58th minute. The victory lifted Remo Stars to 16th on the NPFL table with 13 points and two games in hand. The team now prepares to face Enugu Rangers in Abeokuta on Thursday.
Elsewhere, Rivers United edged past Kun Khalifat 1-0 away, courtesy of Maclyn Biokpo’s 78th-minute goal, moving Finidi George’s side into the top four with 20 points, three behind league leaders Nasarawa United with a game in hand. Plateau United also continued their strong form at the New Jos Stadium, defeating Bendel Insurance 1-0 thanks to Saka Gafar’s early second-half strike. The loss extended Bendel Insurance’s winless streak to seven matches, leaving the Benin side in 19th place under the watch of new coach Kennedy Boboye.
