Idris emphasized that the ongoing insecurity in the country is not driven by religious factors, adding that the Tinubu administration has made significant strides in addressing national security challenges. He noted that in the past two years, President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated unwavering commitment to combating insecurity, as reflected in Nigeria’s improved ranking on the Global Terrorism Index and the recent overhaul of the nation’s security leadership.
He further urged the United States and other allied nations to support Nigeria’s efforts in dismantling criminal networks that have made life difficult for citizens.
“The Nigerian government is open to working closely with international partners, including the United States, to ensure that criminal and terrorist elements are completely eliminated,” Idris stated.
He assured that President Tinubu remains focused on strengthening relations with the U.S. and other nations to address lingering security challenges, adding that the government acknowledges concerns about alleged human rights violations and is committed to ensuring transparency and justice.
