Priscilla Ojo Speaks Out: Juma Jux’s Store Was Looted, Not Set Ablaze By Protesters.
Nigerian social media influencer, Priscilla Ojo, has clarified reports suggesting that her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, lost his luxury fashion store to a fire during recent post-election protests in Tanzania.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, rumours spread rapidly online on Thursday, alleging that protesters had set ablaze Juma Jux’s high-end boutique, said to be worth millions of dollars, following unrest that erupted after Tanzania’s tense presidential election.
A viral post by an online user, Bolaji Fesomade, had claimed that the store, allegedly valued at over $780 million, was completely destroyed by fire amid widespread violence triggered by the disputed election results.
However, Priscilla took to Snapchat to set the record straight, stating that while the store was indeed looted during the protests, it was not burnt down. She simply wrote, “Looted not burnt,” to dispel the misinformation circulating across social media platforms.
The celebrity couple recently returned to Lagos with their young son after being welcomed with an elaborate homecoming celebration organized by Priscilla’s mother, Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo.
As of the time of this report, Juma Jux has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
Reports indicate that Tanzania has been gripped by civil unrest following the October 29, 2025, general election. The poll, marred by controversy, saw key opposition figures barred from participating, sparking nationwide demonstrations demanding fair representation and electoral transparency.
Security forces reportedly used tear gas and live rounds to disperse crowds in major cities, including Dar es Salaam, while authorities imposed a strict 6 p.m. curfew. Internet access was also restricted in several regions to curb the spread of information during the chaos.
