LAGOS, Nigeria — Wizkid’s official disc jockey, DJ Tunez, has set social media abuzz after teasing a new single titled “Money Constant,” featuring Nigerian superstar Wizkid, South African hitmaker DJ Maphorisa, and Johannesburg artist Mavo.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The highly anticipated collaboration, announced on Instagram late Tuesday, brings together some of Africa’s most influential names in Afrobeats and Amapiano. DJ Tunez shared photos from the recording studio, where the quartet was seen working on the cross-continental track.

According to Tunez’s post, “Money Constant” blends Afrobeat’s rhythmic energy with Amapiano’s deep house basslines — a fusion that continues to dominate Africa’s music scene. While no official release date has been revealed, fans are speculating that the single could arrive before the end of 2025, based on Tunez’s hints in his Instagram story.

The announcement sparked an immediate wave of reactions from music fans across Nigeria and South Africa. Many expressed excitement over Wizkid’s growing list of collaborations this year, which already includes appearances with international and African artists. Others, however, voiced mixed opinions, suggesting that the frequent collaborations might dilute the star’s unique sound.

“I can’t wait to hear this one — Wizkid and Maphorisa always bring fire,” wrote one user on X (formerly Twitter). Another fan added, “It’s great to see African artists uniting again, but Wizkid should focus more on solo projects.”

DJ Tunez, who has been Wizkid’s longtime collaborator and touring DJ, has played a major role in expanding Afrobeats’ global reach. Known for hits like “Pami” and “Cool Me Down,” he often blends traditional West African rhythms with dance and electronic elements. His latest teaser suggests “Money Constant” will continue that trend while showcasing the synergy between Nigeria and South Africa’s thriving music industries.

DJ Maphorisa’s inclusion in the lineup adds further weight to the project. As one of the leading figures behind the Amapiano wave, Maphorisa has previously collaborated with top African and international acts. His work with Kabza De Small, Wizkid, and Burna Boy has helped elevate the South African sound to a global audience.

Meanwhile, Mavo, a rising artist from Johannesburg, is expected to bring a fresh twist to the track. His previous projects, rooted in soulful Amapiano and Afrofusion, have gained traction across southern Africa. Industry watchers say this feature could mark his breakout moment on the continental stage.

The collaboration reflects the ongoing trend of cross-border partnerships driving Africa’s modern soundscape. In recent years, the fusion of Afrobeats and Amapiano has become a dominant force across streaming platforms and international music charts. Artists like Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Asake have successfully merged the genres, appealing to audiences from Lagos to London and Johannesburg.

Although “Money Constant” remains unreleased, its announcement underscores Wizkid’s active presence in 2025. Following a quieter 2024 marked by selective performances, the Grammy-winning singer has reemerged this year with a series of high-profile collaborations. Industry insiders believe “Money Constant” could be a major highlight of his musical comeback.

Neither Tunez nor Wizkid has commented on the exact release strategy, but promotional activity suggests a possible rollout in late November or December — aligning with the festive season, when Afrobeats and Amapiano releases often dominate African airwaves.

As fans await the official drop, anticipation continues to build for what many expect to be one of the year’s standout African collaborations. Whether “Money Constant” turns into a club anthem or a reflective ode to hustle and success, the blend of Wizkid’s calm vocals, Maphorisa’s signature production, and Tunez’s global sound hints at a track made for both local and international audiences.
