The budget allocates ₦126.8 billion for capital projects and ₦10.2 billion for recurrent expenditures. It aims to support ongoing infrastructure projects and ensure the completion of initiatives across the state.
Governor Radda said the supplementary budget was necessary because many Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) had exhausted their initial allocations due to the accelerated pace of development.
“Additional funds are essential to sustain our projects and deliver results to the people,” Radda said during the signing ceremony at the Government House in Katsina.
The governor commended the State House of Assembly for promptly passing the budget. He specifically praised the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, and all lawmakers for their commitment to the state’s growth.
The supplementary budget will finance key infrastructure projects, including road construction, healthcare facilities, schools, water supply systems, and agricultural support programs. Governor Radda assured citizens that the budget would be implemented transparently and efficiently.
House Leader Shamsuddeen Abubakar Dabai described Governor Radda as one of the best-performing governors in Nigeria. He noted that the supplementary estimates came at the right time, supporting both completed and ongoing projects across Katsina State.
The budget was reviewed by the House Committee on Appropriations before its passage. The signing ceremony was attended by the House Chief Whip, Ibrahim Dikko Matazu, and the Committee Chairman, Lawal Yaro.
Analysts say the supplementary budget reflects the Katsina government’s commitment to development and fiscal responsibility. By boosting funding for critical projects, the state aims to improve public services and raise the quality of life for residents.
Governor Radda’s administration has focused on completing ongoing projects while initiating new development plans to address infrastructure gaps and stimulate local economic growth.
The Katsina State government said it will continue to monitor and evaluate project implementation to ensure accountability and effectiveness. Officials promised regular updates to the public on the progress of funded projects.
