PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria — Popular singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, urged the government on Monday to step in after a viral confrontation at Port Harcourt International Airport that he says involved staged “death” pranks by strangers.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
A video shared widely on social media shows Portable in beige clothing confronting an unidentified man as a crowd and airport staff gather. Airport security officers then moved in and led Portable away to a waiting vehicle, while onlookers recorded the scene. The footage has been viewed thousands of times and sparked debate about safety and prank culture at public places.
In a follow-up video posted to his accounts, Portable said he was targeted by what he called “death pranksters” — groups he described as staging fake deaths and other dramatic scenes to provoke strong reactions and gain online attention. He said the encounter at the airport nearly led to wider violence before security personnel intervened.
Portable told reporters and followers that prank groups have become more extreme and dangerous. “They set people up, make people think someone is dead, then they come and create drama for views,” he said in one clip. He asked federal authorities to ban such pranks and to investigate those who stage them, saying they put public safety at risk.
Airport staff who appear in the video moved quickly to de-escalate the situation, restraining Portable and escorting him away from the crowd. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and airport police did not immediately respond to requests for comment about the incident or whether any arrests were made. Local news outlets reported the scuffle occurred on Sunday and that video of the clash circulated on social media on Monday.
Public reaction has been mixed. Some social media users criticized Portable for losing his temper in a busy airport, while others called for stricter enforcement against prank content creators, saying staged stunts can threaten passengers and staff. Safety experts say staged pranks in public spaces can disrupt operations and put people at risk, especially in sensitive locations such as airports.
Legal and aviation observers note that airports enforce strict rules for behavior and security. If pranksters are found to have interfered with airport operations or endangered passengers, they could face criminal charges under aviation and public order laws. Portable’s call for government action adds to growing concerns about viral prank culture and its real-world consequences.
For now, the central facts remain: a viral video captured a confrontation at Port Harcourt International Airport involving Portable; the singer claims he was provoked by pranksters; and he has publicly urged authorities to ban such acts. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on investigations or any planned measures. Journalists seeking comment from FAAN and the police have been referred to official channels.
As the story develops, officials will likely weigh enforcement options and whether public-education campaigns or legal steps are needed to deter staged pranks that threaten safety. For now, the viral footage has reinvigorated a national conversation about the risks of online stunts when they spill into crowded public places.

‘Kwankwaso Is More Experienced Than Peter Obi’ – Buhari’s Ex-Aide Declares.
Ahmad made the assertion in a post on his X handle, maintaining that Kwankwaso’s decision to accept the position of running mate should be seen as an act of political modesty rather than an indication that he is less qualified than Obi.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to the former presidential aide, the relationship between the two politicians should be viewed as one of equals rather than that of a superior and a subordinate.
“To be entirely candid, the political dynamic between Rabiu Kwankwaso and Peter Obi ought to be characterised as one of collegiality between peers, rather than a hierarchy of principal and subordinate,” he wrote.
He added, “The choice to assume a deputy role beneath Obi ought to be interpreted as a testament to political modesty.”
Making a case for Kwankwaso’s political experience, Ahmad recalled that the former Kano State governor served as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives before Obi became a prominent figure in national politics.
He also noted that Kwankwaso governed Kano State, which he described as Nigeria’s most populous and politically influential state, for two terms and served as a federal minister.
“If we are assessing political experience, Sen. Kwankwaso probably has a longer and more impressive political background than Peter Obi,” Ahmad stated.
In contrast, the former presidential aide argued that Obi’s major public office experience was limited to his tenure as governor of Anambra State.
“Unlike other candidates, Peter Obi was just a former governor of Anambra State,” he wrote.
