• Rationale for Suspension: The action follows repeated violent incidents involving factional disputes within the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), which resulted in the death of a toddler and the shooting of an elderly man.

• Safety Concerns: ALGON Vice Chairman, Lanre Balogun, noted that public motor parks had increasingly become unsafe for commuters and operators, turning into hideouts for criminals.

• Immediate Directive: Effective immediately, all transport unions—including motorcycle and tricycle operators—are prohibited from activities in public motor parks across the state’s 30 local government areas and the Ife East Area Office in Modakeke.
