FCCPC Raises Alarm Over Fake Facebook and WhatsApp Accounts Targeting Nigerians
The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has issued a warning to Nigerians over the circulation of a fake Facebook and WhatsApp account impersonating its Acting Executive Chairman, Kayode Oladele. According to Nivo News, the Commission revealed in a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Communication, Mr. Chizea C.C., that fraudsters behind the scheme have been using Oladele’s photograph to send friend requests to unsuspecting individuals.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Commission disclosed that the impostors have been falsely claiming that the Acting Executive Chairman is offering recruitment slots and political appointments through the fake accounts. It stressed that Hon. Kayode Oladele does not operate any Facebook or WhatsApp platform for employment or political engagement.
Nigerians were strongly cautioned not to accept friend requests or interact with such fraudulent profiles. Those who may have already engaged with the fake accounts were advised to immediately block them and report to security agencies in order to avoid falling victim to scams.
Reassuring the public of its commitment to integrity, the Federal Character Commission emphasized that it will continue to take steps to protect Nigerians from deceitful schemes designed to exploit their trust.
