Edo Assembly Clears Eight Commissioner Nominees In Swift Approval

According to Nivo News, the nominees who scaled through screening include Barr. Nosa Adams, Yakubu Oshiorenua, Felix Akhabue, Prof. Omorodion Ignatius, Ohimai Ehijimetor, Eugenia Abdallah, Godwin Eshieshi, and Prince Kassim Afegbua.
The confirmation followed a review by the House Committee on Rules, Business, and Governmental Affairs, which presented a report outlining 11 findings and a single recommendation for clearance.
Speaker Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, while explaining the report, noted that all nominees are indigenes of Edo State and possess the competence and experience required to serve effectively. He urged them to work proactively and align with the governor to accelerate development in the state.
However, Agbebaku expressed concern over the gender imbalance in the list, highlighting that only one female was among the eight confirmed nominees.
The nominees were cleared after receiving overwhelming support in a voice vote on the floor of the House, paving the way for their inauguration as members of the Edo State Executive Council.
