Celebrating Death Is Useless’ – Pere Egbi Preaches Caution Over Buhari’s Passing”
Reality TV personality and actor, Pere Egbi, has called on Nigerians to refrain from celebrating the death of any individual, regardless of their personal opinions about the deceased.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to NIVONEWS, Pere shared his reflections in a tweet following the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, urging empathy and maturity in the face of death. While acknowledging that Buhari was not a flawless leader, the former Big Brother Naija housemate maintained that the late president did his best for Nigeria during his time in office.
He condemned those expressing joy over Buhari’s death, questioning what such behavior achieves and describing it as both unwise and unproductive.
“This is a sad day for Nigeria and Nigerians. May God give your family the strength to endure this painful loss,” he wrote. “You led Nigeria to the best of your ability. Though imperfect—as all men are—you gave your all to your country.”
Pere emphasized the finality and solemnity of death, adding:
“One thing about death is that once it comes, you’re completely erased from the face of the earth. Love, hate, praise, criticism—none of it matters anymore. You’re gone, and that’s it. That’s why it is utterly pointless and insensitive to celebrate anyone’s death, no matter how they lived or how they made you feel.”
He concluded by reflecting on the eternal consequences of death:
“They have now become part of history. They are gone and are now answering to the Almighty. So, to those celebrating Buhari’s death—what do you really gain from it? Nothing.”
