In a heartfelt condolence message personally signed on Monday, Marwa expressed deep sorrow over Buhari’s passing, stating that the former leader’s legacy would live on in the hearts of Nigerians who shared in his vision of a reformed, self-reliant nation.
“President Buhari will be remembered for his bold efforts to entrench discipline in public service and to safeguard national security during some of Nigeria’s most challenging periods,” Marwa said.
He noted that Buhari’s administration prioritised infrastructure, agricultural transformation, and policies aimed at building national pride and long-term self-sufficiency.
Reflecting on his tenure both as military Head of State and later as a democratically elected President, Marwa said Buhari’s leadership was marked by quiet strength, personal discipline, and a steadfast commitment to service.
Beyond politics, Marwa praised Buhari for his humility and strong moral grounding.
“He led with calmness during uncertain times, guided by integrity, simplicity, and conviction. His actions often spoke louder than his words,” he said.
Marwa also highlighted Buhari’s deep religious faith and concern for the average Nigerian, describing him as a principled man guided by a strong ethical compass.
He extended his sympathies to the Buhari family and urged Nigerians to remember the late president’s legacy with gratitude and reflection.
“As we mourn this immense national loss, we offer our prayers to his family. President Buhari’s legacy will remain a beacon for future generations, and history will treat him with honour,” Marwa concluded.
