Buhari Was Too Permissive” – Femi Adesina Drops Bombshell on Ex-President’s Leadership Style
Former Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina, has revealed that the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari had a tendency to be overly tolerant, often extending grace even to those who publicly criticised him.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking during an interview on ARISE Television on Sunday night, Adesina recounted moments from their time in office when Buhari would host individuals for dinner shortly after they had condemned him on national television.
“One of his major weaknesses, I’d say, was being too permissive,” Adesina said. “You’d watch people lambast him on morning talk shows, and by evening, you’d find them dining with him. He was extremely tolerant — not because he was weak, but because that was his nature. Unfortunately, some aides and appointees took advantage of that.”
Addressing long-standing criticism about Buhari’s leadership style, Adesina defended the former president’s slow but deliberate approach to governance.
“He responded to that label — ‘Baba Go Slow’ — by saying, ‘Yes, I move slowly, but I do the right thing.’ He believed in order over speed. That’s something I remember clearly from his speeches: ‘Order is better than speed.’ He didn’t want to rush decisions at the expense of clarity and stability. Even during his time as military head of state, he held to that same philosophy — steady, not hasty,” Adesina explained.
