According to NIVONEWS, the operation was executed on July 9 following real-time intelligence which revealed the movement of nearly 150 motorcycles, each reportedly carrying two armed fighters, through the area.
NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed that once hostile elements were positively identified, air assets swiftly engaged the convoy with deadly accuracy. He noted that surviving insurgents were seen fleeing both on foot and on motorcycles, as additional airstrikes were deployed to intercept and disrupt their escape routes.
According to NIVONEWS, the military didn’t stop there. A follow-up clearance operation was carried out by ground troops on the morning of July 10 in Yarbuga village. Troops recovered multiple charred motorcycles, weapons, and the remains of numerous terrorists who had been neutralized during the air raid.
Ejodame emphasized that the success of the mission underscores the growing synergy between air and ground forces in counterterrorism operations across Nigeria’s troubled northwest.
According to NIVONEWS, this latest strike forms part of a sustained campaign to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace to Zamfara and other affected states.
