The Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Phrank Shaibu, has fired back at Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, over his recent suggestion that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition should adopt Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, as its standard bearer.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement titled “The Plot Is Clear and It Has Failed,” Shaibu said Keyamo’s unsolicited advice exposed a calculated attempt to infiltrate and destabilize the emerging ADC-led opposition coalition.

Shaibu insisted that those who played leading roles in plunging Nigeria into hardship have no business dictating the direction or leadership of a movement formed to rescue the country.

“They tried this in 2023—planting moles, twisting our agenda, and then shamelessly celebrating with those who rigged the election. Now, they’re at it again, but this time Nigerians are wiser. Why should the same people who orchestrated our suffering now pose as advisers on how to fix it?” he queried.

He described Keyamo’s comment—urging the coalition to adopt Peter Obi—as a deliberate move to sow disunity within the platform, distract stakeholders, and derail the momentum of a united opposition.

“The very day we unveiled our platform, the Minister couldn’t wait—he rushed out a divisive narrative recommending Peter Obi for the ADC ticket. It wasn’t goodwill—it was sabotage, a classic strategy to fracture solidarity and ignite internal discord.”

Shaibu urged members of the coalition to remain focused and not fall for old tricks designed to divide, confuse, and dominate.

“When we start doubting each other, questioning motives, and amplifying planted narratives, we’re playing directly into their hands. That’s their game—divide us, derail us, and defeat us.”

He added, “These are the same individuals who failed to deliver on governance and are now desperate to control the forces that threaten their grip on power. But we won’t let history repeat itself.”

Reaffirming the coalition’s resolve, Shaibu said, “They fear our unity because it’s beyond their control. They fear this movement because it belongs to the people. Unlike them, we are driven not by desperation but by purpose.”

“This is our moment. We are undistracted, undivided, and unwavering. The ADC is here to stay, and our mission is clear: to reclaim Nigeria from those who ruined it.”
