Speaking during an interview on Oyinmomo TV, the Anikulapo star recounted the harrowing experience, describing how the illness took a severe toll on both his physical and emotional well-being.

“For seven long years, I could only pray while sitting down, and pap was the only thing I could eat,” the 65-year-old actor said. “It was one of the darkest periods of my life.”

Ogogo disclosed that he sought help from various places, exploring different forms of treatment in a desperate bid to recover. During this period, he even removed his Mecca teeth as part of the healing process.

Despite the severity of the illness, Ogogo maintained that he never sold any of his assets. However, the health crisis did affect his ability to appear regularly on film sets.

“I went from one place to another in search of healing, trying different treatments. I appreciated both men and women who supported me. The only thing I couldn’t do was attend locations often—but I never had to sell my property,” he added.

This revelation comes shortly after another Nollywood actor, Don Richard, also spoke publicly about his ongoing health issues, which began after he quit alcohol and smoking.
