Addressing guests at the event, Mrs. Shettima stressed that mothers play a crucial role in shaping the values and character of their children.

“It is the responsibility of every mother to instill discipline and strong values in her children,” she said. “That is what determines the kind of leaders and citizens they will become.”

She also advised parents to lay solid foundations for their children to enable them contribute meaningfully to national development.

Turning to the newlyweds, Nana Shettima urged them to remain prayerful and committed to each other, describing marriage as a journey that requires patience and understanding.

“Marriage is not a bed of roses. I urge you both to be patient, prayerful, and always cherish the love that binds you together. May Allah guide your union,” she said.

Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Ummuna Ahmed, an aunt to the groom, encouraged the couple to stay calm during difficult times and support each other consistently. She reminded the bride of the age-old adage that “behind every successful man is a supportive woman.”

She added, “A strong, united couple lays the foundation for a successful and happy home.”

On her part, Hajia Saadatu Ahmad, the bride’s mother, expressed immense joy and advised the couple to build their marriage on trust, sincerity, and discretion.

“My advice to them is simple—keep your issues private and always take care of each other. I am overwhelmed with happiness today,” she said.
