Presidency Pays Last Respects: Shettima Visits Grieving Dantata Clan in Kano

Alhaji Aminu Dantata passed away on Friday, June 27, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and was laid to rest in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday, July 1, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Vice-President Kashim Shettima, accompanied by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family, describing the late statesman as a man of exceptional vision, integrity, and enduring impact on Nigeria’s development.
“He was a man of honour, humility, and compassion. His legacy in commerce and philanthropy will resonate for generations to come,” Shettima said, emphasizing that Dantata was a national pillar whose passing is a significant loss to the country.
The Vice-President encouraged the family to carry on Dantata’s legacy of service, honesty, and community-oriented values for the benefit of future generations.
He also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased and for divine strength for the family in their time of grief.
A celebrated industrialist and generous philanthropist, Dantata was the founder of one of Nigeria’s oldest indigenous business empires and a driving force behind the economic growth of Northern Nigeria.
Since news of his passing broke, political figures, traditional rulers, and business leaders have continued to send condolences and pay glowing tributes to honour his memory.
