Adeleye revealed that during interrogation, the arrested suspect led Amotekun operatives to a shallow grave where Adepoyigi’s body was buried. The remains have since been exhumed and handed over to the deceased’s family for burial.

Adepoyigi was abducted at the gate of his residence in Ifon on Monday, May 13, 2025. His death was confirmed five days later, on May 18, despite a ransom payment of ₦5 million reportedly made by his family.

Speaking further, the Amotekun commander reassured residents and investors of safety across Ondo State, urging people to go about their lawful activities without fear. He noted that there have been no recent kidnapping cases, thanks to Amotekun’s consistent presence in forest reserves and border communities, particularly in Akure North LGA—areas previously plagued by attacks from armed herdsmen.
