Leye Adegboyega Takes Charge as New FRSC Commander in Osun
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Leye Adegboyega as the new Sector Commander for Osun State, under the RS11.1 Command. He officially assumed the role on May 2, succeeding Mr. Taofeeq Sokumbi, who has been reassigned.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Before this appointment, Adegboyega was the Zonal Head of Operations at the FRSC Zone RS11 Command Headquarters in Osogbo. A seasoned officer with a rich career spanning over three decades, he joined the Corps on November 1, 1993. His early postings included serving as the Personal Assistant to the Director of Operations until 1998 and later becoming the pioneer Principal Staff Officer to the then Acting Corps Marshal, Mr. Danyaro Yakasai.
His career progressed through strategic roles, including Staff Officer (Statistics) in the Department of Planning, Research and Statistics, and Staff Officer (Operations) in Imo State. In 2005, he was posted to the Owo Unit Command in Ondo State, where he managed Administration and Human Resources until 2009 as an Assistant Corps Commander I.
Promoted to the rank of Corps Commander in April 2022, Adegboyega was subsequently assigned as Director of Coordination at the FRSC Command and Staff College in Udi, Enugu State. By July 2023, he had returned to Osogbo to serve as the Zonal Head of Operations.
Born in Abeokuta on July 25, 1969, to the family of the late Pa Femi Adeleye and Mrs. Felicia Adeleye, Adegboyega hails from Ayetoro in Yewa South LGA of Ogun State. He received his primary education at St. Andrew’s Primary School, Ibara, and his secondary education at African Church Grammar School, both in Abeokuta. He holds a B.Sc. in Political Science from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), graduating in 1992.
After completing his National Youth Service with the FRSC in Enugu, his exceptional performance earned him an automatic appointment into the Corps. Adegboyega is married to Mrs. Oluwayemisi Elizabeth, and they are blessed with four children.
