Master Key Scandal: Wife Admits Buying Tools on Jumia to Facilitate Husband’s Car Heists
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has made significant progress in their investigation of a car theft syndicate, arresting at least eight suspects and recovering three stolen vehicles.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to a statement from Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, the arrests began on April 19, 2025, after a gold-colored Toyota Corolla (Reg No. ABC 570 FJ) was reported stolen from the Federal Secretariat. This led to the arrest of one suspect, Yusuf Yunusa.
Further investigation revealed the involvement of Yunusa’s wife, Blessing Yusuf, who was apprehended on April 25 in Kwali Area Council. The police revealed that Blessing confessed to purchasing “Toyota master keys” on the Jumia online marketplace, which her husband used to steal vehicles. She also admitted to assisting in the thefts by creating distractions during the snatchings.
In another breakthrough, on April 28, 2025, the police responded to a tip-off from a car buyer in Life Camp who had purchased a suspicious black Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC E-400 (Reg No. AAA 07 KA). Investigations confirmed the vehicle had been stolen from Lekki, Lagos. Five additional suspects — Idris Suleiman, Isiyaku Habibu, Ganiyu Sadiq, Idowu Akintunde, and Bello Muyideen — were arrested and later confessed to stealing the car from their employer.
Additionally, a report from a vehicle owner, Mr. Chinwenze Chinaza, led to the arrest of a driver, George Idung, who had gone missing along with his unregistered Toyota Hilux Adventure. The police tracked Idung to his village in Eket LGA, Akwa Ibom State, where he was apprehended while attempting to sell the vehicle.
All eight suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged upon the completion of investigations. The Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Ajao S. Adewale, has urged residents to install tracking devices on their vehicles and to avoid isolated parking spaces to prevent similar incidents.

Taking over leadership at the JAMB headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, Aina succeeds Professor Ishaq Oloyede, whose 10-year, two-term tenure concluded on July 31, 2026. Initially approved by President Bola Tinubu on May 21 when Aina was 39, this appointment marks him as the youngest individual ever to lead the examination body.
When the appointment was first announced, Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, highlighted Aina’s deep background in digital infrastructure, public-sector reforms, and national examination systems, noting his historic milestone as one of Nigeria’s youngest computer engineering professors.
In his inaugural address, Aina acknowledged the foundation laid by his predecessor—who is widely credited with modernizing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)—and vowed to expand on those achievements. Emphasizing a strong stance against malpractice, he warned wrongdoers that their illicit activities have no place at JAMB, promising to ramp up modern technological investments and deepen partnerships with security agencies to safeguard the integrity of the admissions process.
