Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has addressed recent events within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), particularly the resignation of House of Representatives member Wole Oke. In a statement delivered through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor sought to ease tensions surrounding Oke’s resignation. He reassured PDP supporters that the party has not lost any true allies.

“We know how we got to Government House and the people God used to make it possible. We know those who tried to stop us, both openly and silently. We also recognize those who opposed us but have since embraced our vision of good governance,” the statement read.

Governor Adeleke highlighted that despite facing opposition, his administration has garnered broader support, particularly through the defection of key members from rival parties. He credited his government’s inclusive approach as a major factor in winning over more partners and supporters.

“Our good work has earned us more allies, partners, and men of goodwill across party lines,” Adeleke remarked.

The governor emphasized that his administration ensures equitable development across Osun State, with fair representation of all federal constituencies in his cabinet and the distribution of resources across the state.

“Our administration treats all constituencies fairly. A particular federal constituency holds three key portfolios in my cabinet, and our infrastructure projects reach every part of the state,” he noted. He reiterated that his government is committed to serving the needs of all citizens in Osun.

Addressing ongoing internal challenges within the party and local government, Adeleke expressed optimism that these issues would soon be resolved within the bounds of the law. He stressed the importance of grassroots mobilization for the success of the PDP in the upcoming election.

“We must stay focused and continue with grassroots mobilization. The face-off within the local government system will be resolved soon, following the rule of law,” he stated.

Adeleke concluded by thanking those who have endorsed him for a second term and expressed gratitude for their loyalty and continued support of the PDP.
