Peter Okoye Blames Fans for PSquare’s Breakup, Says “I No Send Una”
Renowned Nigerian artist, Peter Okoye—popularly known as Mr P—has attributed the dissolution of the iconic music duo, PSquare, to the actions and attitudes of fans.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking during his performance at the AYLIVE Easter show, Mr P expressed frustration over the constant comparisons made between him and his twin brother, Paul Okoye, stating that such favoritism fueled internal conflicts that ultimately led to the group’s disbandment.
“Fans are the reason PSquare is no longer together,” Mr P said in Pidgin English. “Two brothers were doing the same thing, but people kept saying one was better than the other. That got into someone’s head, and things started falling apart.”
He ended the remark with a firm message: “If you like, go home, I no send una,” expressing indifference to public opinion on the matter.
In a related development, Peter Okoye recently spoke about enduring over 20 years of betrayal and emotional manipulation from within his family. These revelations came to light amid a court case at the Federal High Court in Lagos, where his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, is facing a seven-count charge of money laundering amounting to ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59. The charges are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and involve Jude’s company, Northside Music Limited.
Taking to Instagram on April 15, 2025, Mr P advised against remaining silent in the face of mistreatment, especially from family. He emphasized the importance of mental well-being, asserting that any family that steals, discriminates, or ignores one’s pain does not qualify as family.
“My mental health matters. I stayed quiet for 20 years, but no more,” he stated.
This public disclosure adds further context to the long-standing tensions that led to PSquare’s dramatic split, offering fans a deeper understanding of the personal struggles behind the scenes.
