The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday, April 19, 2025. He explained that the first arrest was made following credible intelligence received around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday regarding a suspected kidnapper hiding in Gida Abe.
Responding swiftly, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Tafa Division dispatched a surveillance team to the location. The operation led to the arrest of 30-year-old Isa Ibrahim, who, during interrogation, admitted being part of a kidnapping gang previously operating in Kwara State. He further revealed that he had relocated to Kaduna to establish a new criminal cell after his accomplices were arrested in Kwara.
In a separate but related operation the same day at approximately 3:30 p.m., the DPO of Saminaka Division acted on another tip-off about suspected bandits hiding in Lamido village, Lere Local Government Area. Two suspects—Sani Liman of Unguwan Fa, Rami Kura, and Murtala Magaji (also known as Seto) from Dambata in Galadimawa—were apprehended. Both confessed to involvement in multiple kidnapping incidents in the area.
Additionally, on Friday evening around 6:00 p.m., the DPO of Ikara Division received a report about two suspected arms traffickers. Surveillance efforts led to their interception and recovery of illegal firearms believed to be intended for criminal activities.
The Kaduna State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to stamping out kidnapping and armed violence through intensified intelligence-led policing and community cooperation.
