Portable Arrested in Ogun State Over Criminal Defamation Allegations

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested the popular singer, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, known as ‘Portable’, in connection with allegations of criminal defamation and related offenses. The arrest took place in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday, following a formal complaint filed by Okunola Saheed, also known as ‘Osupa’.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, it was revealed that a petition had been lodged against Portable, accusing him of multiple offenses. These include criminal defamation, threats to life, incitement, character assassination, conduct likely to disturb public peace, and the use of abusive language.

The police emphasized that the allegations were serious and backed by compelling evidence. Consequently, they obtained an arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court in Ilorin, which authorized the operation that led to Portable’s detention. He was apprehended at approximately 7:25 PM on April 13, 2025, and brought to Ilorin for further questioning.

Upon arrival, the suspect’s statement was recorded in the presence of legal representatives from both parties. Portable is currently in custody, and arrangements are being made to charge him in court promptly.

The Kwara State Police Command reiterated its commitment to justice and urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information while the investigation proceeds.
