Galadima Alleges El-Rufai Is Fronting for Atiku in SDP’s 2027 Game Plan

Buba Galadima, a prominent member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has sparked political debate with claims that former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai is acting as a proxy for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar within the Social Democratic Party (SDP).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during an interview with Africa Independent Television (AIT), Galadima expressed skepticism over the rumored alliance, noting the historical animosity between the two politicians. He questioned the rationale behind such a partnership, citing their longstanding political disagreements.

Referring to El-Rufai’s track record, Galadima highlighted the former governor’s inability to secure significant electoral victories for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna during his tenure. “In 2020, PDP won all three senatorial seats and 12 out of 14 House of Representatives seats while El-Rufai was still in office. Now that he’s no longer governor and is in conflict with the current administration in Kaduna, what influence can he possibly wield?” he said.

Galadima dismissed the SDP coalition as ineffective, describing it as “mere noisemaking,” and reiterated that El-Rufai’s role is simply to pave the way for Atiku’s return bid through an alternative platform. He added, “It is surprising that Atiku would consider working with El-Rufai, especially given that El-Rufai once publicly advised him to save his money for his children and said he would never be president.”

Looking ahead to 2027, Galadima maintained that the NNPP would emerge as the primary platform to unite opposition forces and challenge the ruling party effectively.
