Saraki Denounces Reports Linking Him to 2027 Political Alliance
Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has unequivocally denied recent media reports suggesting he is making strategic political moves ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement released through his media office and signed by his spokesperson, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki dismissed the claims as entirely unfounded and lacking credibility.
The report in question alleged that Saraki, during a recent visit to Ilorin, met with political allies and shared his perspective on Nigeria’s current political landscape. However, the former Kwara State governor insisted that such narratives stem from misinterpretations and speculation, particularly due to his decision to remain silent on current coalition talks among opposition politicians.
The statement emphasized that the report relied heavily on unnamed sources and anonymous individuals purported to have attended the alleged meeting. Furthermore, it accused the reporter of seeking opinions from persons who were not fully briefed on the subject matter, thereby compromising the integrity of the story.
“We believe the journalist’s misunderstanding arose from Dr. Saraki’s choice not to publicly comment on the coalition efforts being discussed among various political actors,” the statement read.
The media office further clarified that those who know Dr. Saraki personally understand his reputation as a measured and thoughtful communicator who avoids making statements that could be misrepresented or sensationalized.
“The positions and visuals circulating in connection to that report are fabrications and do not reflect Dr. Saraki’s views or actions. He has no association with them whatsoever,” the statement concluded.
The former Senate President’s office urged the public to disregard the misleading publication and dismiss any online distortions being promoted by political elements within Kwara State’s opposition.
