The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has voiced strong opposition to a proposed nationwide protest organized by the Take-It-Back Movement, scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2025. The police have described the protest as ill-timed and mischievous, especially considering it coincides with National Police Day, a day designated by the federal government to celebrate the dedication and resilience of the police force.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement released on Sunday, Police spokesperson ACP Muyiwa Adejobi urged the protest organizers to cancel the planned demonstration, citing concerns over its timing and underlying motives. The protest, aimed at challenging government policies, is set to take place across various states, including the Federal Capital Territory. It has raised questions, particularly because it falls on the same day as the National Police Day, an event meant to honor police officers and attract dignitaries, both local and international.

The police stressed that while they respect the constitutional right to peaceful assembly, the timing of this protest appears to be a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of the police force. The statement further advised those intending to participate in the protest to engage in dialogue with the relevant government institutions instead of resorting to demonstrations.

He warned against dragging the state into fresh tension, accusing the state government of attempting to revive old allegations for political advantage.

Adewara said the PDP would not remain silent while what he called “political narratives” are used to influence public perception around a tragic incident that claimed multiple lives in Offa in 2018.

He also urged residents, especially affected families, not to allow their pain to be used for political gains, insisting it is unjust to associate Saraki with the crime.
