The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended three suspected kidnappers who allegedly collected a ransom of N3 million from the family of their victim. The arrest was confirmed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the command, in a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

According to Hundeyin, the Isashi Police Division received a distress call on Tuesday around noon regarding a kidnapping incident. “The report revealed that some hoodlums had abducted an unknown person at Oke Moro, Isashi,” he stated.

Upon receiving the information, a team of police officers was dispatched to the scene, where they successfully rescued a 24-year-old male victim and arrested the three suspects involved in the crime.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of N2 million, which the victim’s mother paid through two different bank accounts.
