Tech Expert Proposes Robotic Surveillance Solution To TCN Tower Vandalization IssueNathan Nwachuku, a Nigerian tech expert and the co-founder/CEO of TerraHaptix, has suggested that implementing a robotic surveillance system could effectively address the persistent problem of vandalization of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) towers and other critical infrastructures in the country.

In an interview on Saturday, Nwachuku emphasized the urgent need for such technological intervention, especially in light of recent incidents like the blowing up of TCN’s T193 and T194 towers along the Damaturu-Maiduguri 330kV Single Circuit Transmission Line, which resulted in a power outage in Maiduguri.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Nwachuku proposed the adoption of two specific robotic systems – Archer and Kallon – to combat vandalism effectively. Archer, he explained, is a heavy-duty surveillance system capable of providing comprehensive coverage from up to four different angles in the air. On the other hand, Kallon is an autonomous surveillance system designed to be installed in all transmission substations across Nigeria, offering a five-kilometer coverage range. This advanced technology can detect intruders from a significant distance, enabling timely alerts to response teams and enhancing overall security around critical infrastructures.

The necessity for such measures is underscored by recent incidents, including the destruction of four towers along the Jos-Gombe transmission line, leading to prolonged power outages for residents of Gombe, Yola, and Jalingo. TCN has reported a significant rise in vandalism incidents, with over 108 electricity transmission towers destroyed in just nine months.

As Nigeria grapples with the challenge of safeguarding its vital infrastructure, the adoption of innovative solutions like robotic surveillance systems could play a crucial role in curbing vandalism and ensuring the reliability of the country’s power supply.

Nigerian music executive Don Jazzy has sparked reactions online after sharing a lighthearted explanation about why many modern marriages seem to break down faster than those of previous generations.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a video that quickly went viral on social media, the Mavin Records boss used wedding cakes as a humorous analogy to compare past and present relationships.

He noted that in earlier times, couples often used fruit cakes made with alcohol for weddings. According to him, such cakes were durable and could last for long periods—sometimes up to a year—allowing couples to preserve and even share portions during their first wedding anniversary.

He jokingly suggested that this long-lasting nature of traditional cakes symbolically reflected the stability of marriages in the past.

Don Jazzy contrasted this with today’s trend, where many couples opt for butter or ice-cream cakes that require careful storage and spoil more easily.

He humorously implied that the shorter lifespan of these modern cakes mirrors the perceived fragility of some contemporary marriages.

He also pointed out that many modern wedding cakes are often heavily decorated with non-edible materials, with only a small portion actually meant for consumption.
