Former Edo Commissioner Charles Idahosa Explains Defection From PDP To APCCharles Idahosa, a former Commissioner for Information in Edo State, revealed that his decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) was driven by Governor Godwin Obaseki’s alleged disregard for party leaders.

Idahosa, speaking in Benin on Tuesday, highlighted his pivotal role in securing Obaseki’s second-term ticket and his subsequent victory in the 2020 governorship election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

He recalled his defection to the PDP from the APC in 2020, citing his opposition to the alleged mistreatment of Obaseki by APC leaders.

According to Idahosa, his support for Obaseki stemmed from his belief that the governor was being unfairly treated within the APC. However, upon Obaseki’s return as governor, Idahosa claimed that Obaseki did not reciprocate the support shown to him by party leaders.

Idahosa accused Obaseki of implying that party leaders wanted a share of state funds, a claim he challenged Obaseki to substantiate by naming those allegedly making such demands.

Feeling disillusioned by Obaseki’s governance and his treatment of party members, Idahosa decided to leave the PDP, stating that the state had not experienced significant development over the past seven years.

His decision underscores the complex dynamics of political loyalty and governance in Edo State.
