In a statement issued by Muhammad Alhassan, the State Director of the DSS in Kano, the reports were labeled as untrue and fabricated. Alhassan clarified that there was no incident of the Emir’s palace being invaded by DSS operatives, debunking the misinformation.
The confusion arose due to the planned visit of the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to the Emir’s palace, which was initially scheduled but later postponed upon learning that the Emir was not in town.
“We drafted our men as part of our schedules on the visit of the First Lady Oluremi Tinubu but learned that she was not going there anymore and we withdrew our men,” Alhassan explained.
Alhassan emphasized that the narrative suggesting DSS involvement in storming the Emirates Council in response to the unfolding events concerning the Emir was entirely false and malicious.
This clarification from the DSS seeks to dispel any misconceptions and set the record straight regarding their activities in the wake of the dissolution of the Emirate councils in Kano state.
