Bello El-Rufai Clarifies Role During Father’s Administration: Contract Involvement Denied
Bello El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has refuted claims of involvement in contract award processes during his father’s tenure. The lawmaker representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives disclosed that he was sent away from Kaduna immediately after his father assumed office.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an interview conducted by media personality Yaya Abba, Bello explained that during the initial four years of his father’s administration, he worked in the Enterprise Business Unit of a technology firm. This professional experience, he noted, provided him with insights into organizational structures.

Contrary to perceptions, Bello stated that he did not engage in contracting activities while his father held office. He emphasized that he was not like other governor’s children who remained in Kaduna to pursue contracts.

Reflecting on his father’s decision to send him away, Bello recognized the wisdom behind it, acknowledging the vulnerability of family members to undue influence. By removing himself from the political landscape, he noted that his father effectively shielded him from potential pressures and conflicts of interest.

Regarding recent allegations made by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani about the state’s debt and contract liabilities left by El-Rufai’s administration, Bello did not address the accusations directly. However, he reaffirmed his father’s leadership qualities, asserting that Nasir El-Rufai is an exemplary leader suited to Nigeria’s needs.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State House of Assembly has initiated a probe into the administration’s financial affairs amidst the claims of mounting debt and contract liabilities.
